'House' Tackles Health Insurance, Prescription Breast Milk
![]()
Unlike your usual hour of House, this week's show focused on his much-put-upon boss, Dr. Lisa Cuddy, as she tried to negotiate the hurdles of her gig as the hospital's dean of medicine.
Last night's episode of House focused on a day in Cuddy's life as the dean of PPTH, which was different from the usual House and his diagnosic team-centric episodes. We know that Cuddy's life is stressful enough putting up with House's antics (And her unresolved love for him, too), but this episode showed that there was more to her job than telling House "No, you can't infect a patient with malaria to win a $50 bet."
I feel bad for Cuddy. She's called a bitch by patients, thieving employees, and insurance reps, yet she still manages to keep the hospital running smoothly. I thought the health insurance plot was informative about the current health care system in the US, but also informative to Cuddy's character - she struggles with work, home, and love but manages to get shit done (and looks great in the process).
I'm disturbed that there is a website devoted to debunking episodes of a television show, let alone House. Oh, come ON. Really? IT'S A TELEVISION SHOW for goodness sake!
